Objectives
  1. Identify patients who are appropriate candidates for spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) prophylaxis based on clinical risk factors
  2. Differentiate indications for primary versus secondary SBP prophylaxis in patients with cirrhosis
  3. Select appropriate antibiotic agents, dosing, and duration of therapy for primary and secondary SBP prophylaxis
  4. Evaluate risks and limitations of SBP prophylaxis, including antimicrobial resistance and patient-specific considerations
