Course Overview
Grand Rounds/Keynote – Our keynote session this year will be presented by visiting speakers Dr. Rabih Geha and Dr. Reza Manesh – nationally recognized leaders in Clinical Reasoning. This session will be an engaging interactive clinical problem-solving exercise in which MaineHealth hospital medicine physician, Dr. Eliott Morgan will present a case to our guests who will work through the reasoning of the case in real time, providing key insights on the diagnostic process. This session will be followed by a 30 min debrief and Q&A. During the lunch hour, we will host an innovation fair, where participants can’t see the exciting work being done by peers and colleagues from across the health system (note: innovation fair not eligible for CME) Two microlearning sessions will occur in the afternoon – these sessions will blend case reports from MaineHealth hospitalists with specialist focused topics from Infectious Disease and Hematology as well as sessions from Dr. Manesh and Geha on finding joy in medicine and making any case in medicine interesting. We will wrap our afternoon with a group debrief session hosted by the planning committee to review lessons learned and plan for next steps to carry our learnings forward in our work. There will be an optional social hour the evening of the symposium (note: social hour not eligible for CME)

Objectives
  1. Use a standard framework for approaching diagnostic challenges in patient care
  2. Identify key practices for maintaining Joy in Medicine
