LEARNING OBJECTIVES FOR THIS PRESENTATION:

1. Understand that more than half of Maine’s population rely on private wells for their drinking water

2. Identify the major chemical contaminants commonly encountered in drinking water and their clinical and public health significance

3. Understand current well water testing behavior, initiatives to improve testing, and how to connect patients with test services

4. Understand possible roles for primary care providers to promote well water safety
