MaineHealth 2024 Wound Care Symposium

This symposium is designed to build the bedside nurses tool kit for providing high quality, evidence based, care with wound, ostomy, and continence that will elevate their practice at the bedside.

1. Verbalize understanding of wound etiology and pathophysiology to facilitate accurate wound assessment and diagnosis.
2. Demonstrate advanced skills in wound measurement techniques, staging, and documentation for effective treatment planning and monitoring.
3. Describe up-to-date knowledge on evidence-based wound care interventions, including dressings, adjunctive therapies, and surgical options.
4. Identify 3 resources available to them through MaineHealth that can be applied to enhance patient outcomes.

In support of improving patient care, Maine Medical Center (MMC) is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. MMC can accredit continuing education activities with the following credit types: Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE), Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), and American Psychological Association (APA). Registered Dietitians (RDs) and Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTRs)
